David Tollerton was born in
the suburbs of Liverpool in 1944. He was the eldest of ten, eight
sisters and one brother. His education was at local secondary school.
He later went into the Royal Navy as a stoker. On leaving the navy he
married and worked for a time as an engineer. His wife however had the
idea of running a bakery and confectionary shop, so David joined her
in this venture. He had written several items during this
time and joined a writers club in Waterloo Crosby. He found this very
encouraging and has sent several items of work to be assessed by
publishers. He has had a number of poems accepted for publication and
his first book 'Last Tango In Liverpool'. Besides this he is very keen
on music and has written a musical which he hopes to have performed in
the near future. David is, at
present, writing a sequel to Last Tango In Liverpool and has helped to
produce a musical about the famous confederate raider from Laird's,
'The CSS Alabama' which has been performed several times to help raise
money for charities. Below is some of Dave's work. To get in

| Last Tango In Liverpool
 |
Liverpool in the late
1950's and Rock and Roll reigns supreme.
When Billy Walsh, a
self styled aficionado of the Tango becomes involved with Ruby, the
wife of Stavros Ziacis, there begins a vicious spiral of adultery and
violence.
Ruby's passion for Billy and her over-riding fear of
her husband, Stavros, pushes her to murder.
The Old Swan area
of Liverpool stands witness to sudden and explosive violence, dramatic
sex and an ending which is both shocking and inevitable! |
